Kathleen (Kat) Hunter

Kat is an investigator with trainED, specializing in matters involving sexual misconduct, sexual harassment, gender-based violence, and discrimination or harassment cases on behalf of higher education institutions. In her broader legal practice, she advises and represents clients across a wide spectrum of employment and labor law matters. Prior to joining trainED, Kat served with the Department of Veterans Affairs, where she managed all aspects of employment and labor litigation, advised and trained on internal fact-finding and administrative board investigations, provided policy guidance, reviewed and provided advice on Office of Medical Inspector reports, and responded to congressional inquiries. Her extensive collaboration with internal and external stakeholders in that role enhances her ability to navigate complex, sensitive investigations with clarity and confidence.
